CNPE strives to serve the local nonprofit community through an equity lens. We are whole-heartedly committed to being an anti-racist organization, and we encourage all organizations – nonprofit and for-profit alike – to share this commitment.




Examples of our committment to equity

CNPE is committed to building just, equitable nonprofit organizations through our programming, consulting, and convening. To accomplish that, we schedule events that address and unpack important (sometimes uncomfortable) issues. We also designed our School for Fundraising & Engagement through an equity lens, ensuring that BIPOC people are well represented in the advisors, faculty, and students.

    CNPE curates an Anti-Racism/DE&I Resource List that collects articles, books, films, videos, podcasts, a list of agencies, and implicit bias tests. Wherever you are on your journey toward embracing anti-racism, this list has something for you.

  • I’m a white leader of a nonprofit. How can I become better at practicing anti-racism?

    In the first half of 2021, CNPE offered an intensive training session for 16 white CEOs of larger nonprofits, “Nonprofit Leaders Advancing Racial Equity.” Participants found the program both valuable and transformative We are still determining whether we have the interest – and resources to run the program again in 2022.
